# Memoturn pricing

A real free plan, and a paid plan priced on what your agents actually did.
The whole substrate is MIT, so self-hosting is always the other answer.

## Plans

### Free — $0 (no card)

For one project, and for finding out whether shared memory changes how your agents work.

- 5,000 recorded turns / month
- 500 search and list calls / month
- 1 active project
- The whole substrate — nothing is gated
- Sending stops at the cap, not your card

Create your project: https://app.memoturn.com/auth/signup

No credit card. The free plan is a real plan, not a trial.

### Usage — Metered (no base fee)

For real work across several projects, billed by what your agents actually did.

- Everything in Free, uncapped
- $1.50 per 1,000 recorded turns
- $0.30 per 1,000 search and list calls
- $5 per active project / month, first free
- Calls go through at the cap; the month is billed

Start free, upgrade later: https://app.memoturn.com/auth/signup

Every account starts on Free and upgrades from the dashboard. A quiet month bills nothing.

### Enterprise — Custom (invoiced)

For a higher ceiling, procurement, and terms that need a signature rather than a checkout.

- Everything in Usage
- Raised per-project rate ceiling
- Invoicing and custom terms
- Security review and DPA

Volume and terms agreed up front.

## Included with every plan

There is no capability to withhold: the managed edge runs the MIT repository, so the difference between the plans is volume, not features.

- **The whole coordination surface.** Claims so two agents never edit one file, live presence and focus, and typed review gates the engine enforces rather than an agent choosing to ask.
- **Hybrid search, all five legs.** Dense, lexical, hot, entity and graph, fused by reciprocal rank fusion and reranked by a cross-encoder. Every hit names the legs that matched it.
- **Memory that ages.** Per-kind salience decay, reinforcement on recall, and a daily job that consolidates ageing summaries into durable semantic reflections.
- **Secret redaction at ingest.** A regex pass over 25+ credential patterns, then an async LLM review for novel formats, with a triage queue for anything it escalates.
- **OAuth 2.1, or a scoped key.** A full authorization server so an MCP client connects without a pasted key, with scopes that deny by default and device-level revocation.
- **The source, under MIT.** Self-host the entire substrate on a Cloudflare account you own. No licence key, no usage reporting, no feature gate.

## Notes

- **Recorded turns / month** — One turn is one record_turn call. The counter resets on the first of the calendar month, UTC.
- **Search and list calls / month** — search_memory, search_entities, list_recent_turns, list_active_subscribers, get_project_state and get_broadcast. Everything else is unmetered.
- **Active projects** — A project with at least one recorded turn that month. An empty project is never counted and never billed.
- **At the cap** — Free fails closed: the metered call is refused with a 402 and nothing is billed. Usage and Enterprise let the call through and bill the month.
- **Hybrid search across five legs** — Dense (Vectorize), lexical (Postgres FTS), hot (Durable Object storage), entity and graph, fused by RRF and reranked by a cross-encoder.
- **Temporal knowledge graph** — Subject-predicate-object facts with validity windows, point-in-time queries, and auto-supersede when a newer fact contradicts an active one.
- **Distributed file claims** — A claim is taken before an agent edits and watched by the engine, so a collision surfaces as an event instead of a merge conflict.
- **WebSocket fan-out** — State changes broadcast on the project socket the moment they land — no polling, no batching, no replay gaps.
- **OAuth 2.1 with DPoP** — A full authorization server, so an MCP client connects without a pasted key.

## Questions

### What happens when I hit the Free cap?

The metered call is refused with a 402 and nothing is billed — Free fails closed on purpose, so an agent loop cannot run up a bill you did not agree to. The counters reset on the first of the calendar month in UTC. Upgrading to Usage lifts the cap immediately.

### What counts as a turn, and what counts as a query?

A turn is one record_turn call. A query is one of six read tools: search_memory, search_entities, list_recent_turns, list_active_subscribers, get_project_state and get_broadcast. Every other tool — claims, presence, reviews, skills, facts — is unmetered.

### What is an active project?

A project with at least one recorded turn in that calendar month. An empty project costs nothing and is never counted, so you can create a project per repository without paying for the quiet ones. The first active project each month is free; each one after that is $5.

### Is there a subscription underneath the Usage rates?

No. There is no base fee and no seat pricing. A month in which your agents recorded nothing bills nothing, and the invoice is the three line items above with no fourth.

### Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Sign up, create a project, point an agent at the MCP endpoint. Free is a real plan rather than a trial, and it does not expire.

### Can I run it myself instead?

Yes, and it is a first-class path rather than a downgrade. The substrate is MIT and the managed edge runs the same code, so nothing is held back for the hosted tier. You provide a Cloudflare account and a Neon database, and the project content never leaves your infrastructure. The guide is at docs.memoturn.com/self-hosting/, and the source is at github.com/memoturn/memoturn.
